Early Porsche Panamera models are becoming bargains. Today I'm reviewing this 2012 Panamera to show you that you can get a lot of car for under $30,000 -- and I'm going to take you on a tour of this Panamera, and then drive it to reveal one of the best Porsche bargains on the market.

All Panamera are good, only the facelift successors always, I don't know what that is about, and the headlights are getting uglier and uglier.
Good news! It’s the new Dacia sandero!
Thanks Doug, you ruined it for us who got one and had everyone thinking we were rich.
Steering wheel looking cheap? It’s an air bag...I’ll live with it....I love this car, would never have a two seater
How about maintaining a 2012 panamera👽
It looks so much better in black!!
Sorry Doug but saying that panamera is the first to have a sloppy back and it started a trend you got to be stupid. Wake up Doug the mercedes cls problably designed it in 1995 and made it in 2004 the best coupe sedan in the world the first w219 the best or nothing.
Literally my second favorite Porsche behind the 911 GT3 RS but thats expensive af
Can you get a Panamera without a sunroof?
The bargain you say is nothing of the sort. This is a old gas guzzler with decade old tech. It will cost a huge sum to service and maintain. The price of the sticker merely reflects its drawbacks. I'd rather have newer up to date vehicle than pay for a badge.
I think David dobrik bough his ferrari here.
PORSCHE = Parts OR Servicing Cost Heaven and Earth, but God they look good and GO just great !!
What is the maintenance cost?
Doug is the type of fellow that looks like a Doug. Cheers from Switzerland. I like the BMW the best of the Nazi cars.
Got a 2013 Panamera S. A solid car !!!Thanks Doug
Who "squeezes into a tight parking space" next to a $500 POS in a car like this? If you do, you're an idiot. Buy a Civic.
what's wrong with beige interior colors? 🤔
I noticed the hatchback design.... so ugly🤦🏻♂️
Do a review of a 957 Cayenne GTS / Turbo 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Very sad that Mercedes' and BMW's luxury cars has fridge inside but Porsche doesn't.
I quite like the Panamera design, but then again I grew up in Stuttgart. Few years ago, on a visits to Germany, I tried to keep up with one on the Autobahn. Nope.
There's a Hummer H1 right behind you and you're looking at a Panamera? :)
There is no question about the excellent quality of Porsche engineering, however, the Panamera suffers from the kind of exterior ugliness that only a mother can love. Given all other options out there it is sad to know that someone will actually pass a cheaply priced Porsche Panamera even if the price is further lowered.
in our country, this used panamera but v8 version with 400 horsepower cosst less than 20k
the old Ferrari 4 doors were not popular either. I few decades ago they could be purchased for a lot less.
My dads car but 5 years older and without the “GTS” part...
k.
Who’s here after the Doug awards?
When Doug calls that million dollar Aston sedan “beautiful” and says the Panamera doesn’t look that good...
You can get one now for less than $25000. I’m also looking into a 2012-14 cayenne what are your thoughts regarding reliability @doug
I’d get a Porsche all day everyday
THISSS and the V6 Q7 of the era SOUND like Porsches should IMO.
" THIS is a glorified VW TIMEBOMB !!!!! "
i disagree totally i think it looks great the dramatic roof line is what sets it apart
in turkey is costs like more tha 100k lol
They should have committed to a shooting brake design from day one. The new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo looks awesome!
One other important reason, the original Panamera is as ugly as hell. As for practicality, the load volume is large but the aperture to get into is is ridiculously small. This a trade off that was forced upon them by the styling and a brief to have large rear seating area. That thing didn't start the sloped back at all.
I’ve had a 2010 Panamera 4s for ten years. Frigging LOVE this car!!!
Doug, please disclose milage of used cars reviewed.
Can't help but contrast your interest in the Porsche to your distaste for the Quattroporte. And yet all 3 TopGear hosts unequivocally went Italian, as would anyone.
Honestly, this is one homely looking automobile. It doesn't look good at all. I admire Porsche for sticking with it for as long as they have. I think it's time to retire this thing.
This is a camel
Sounds relatively quiet in there. That's what I was wondering, maybe you go for the panamera, if you don't want the loud.
Money pit.
Aaaaah i can't look at that car. It's terrible. It looks terrible. Porsche for me are small, agile and quick cars with a very specific shape that has been around for decades.
Doug : it less than a camery Also in my country this porsche cost 50000$+
Dress for the position you want not the position you have.
Doug, there is nothing more expensive than a cheap German car. This is a fact.
Mileage?
How funny i actually like the Panamera because of the look it has lol
Wait till you have to perform maintenance or fix that bitch, nope not me. I will still with Toyota or Lexus.
30000$ was too much for me n u say cheap 🤔🤔🤔 u remind me how poor I was
buy this and spend the rest of your weekends fixing leaks and changing brake pads.
The tender tense use lally detect because pike intialy escape mid a aboriginal semicircle. fretful, jaded blanket
Its actually growing on me
"It still drives like a Porsche"? What? It IS a Porsche!
Perfect Poseur
did he mention hp?
Alright, I'm gonna say it, I like beige interiors
This is a car, custom should target.
keep in mine the air bag deploys from the center of the steering wheel .
the mercedes cls 2004 was actually the first sedan to have a sloped rear end as far as i’m aware. so it was actually mercedes who made this type of sedan a thing, and mercedes did a waaaay better job at doing it than porsche did
That interior would be a deal breaker even at 10k cheaper. Yuk
Thisssss is Corona beer and I'm about to drink it now.
What is the reliability like on these? If it's sub 30k great, but will you spend half that over the course of ownership on maintainence? Genuinely curious so if you've owned one let me know
Can't get past the looks It's a 911 that's been at the bottom of a lake for a month and looks like a bloated corpse.
Yes it's a cheap price but when you have to repair that car like a brake job for example you're going to pay through the nose that's when the problems calm
it's an endless money pit - Scotty Kilmer.
THIS is the dumbest idea Doug, unless you have a brother who’s a German car mechanic. This car will cost you $5K per year in maintenance. Doug is completely nuts, listen to car mechanic Scotty Kilmer and not this bozo.
You lost me at 0-60 in 5.6.
12:32 that was a smooth dodge lol
9:30 - 9:55 is it just me that loves the Panamera for this reason?
Does Panamera mean Aztec in German?
Getting one next year 4s.
In germany you can get a good used S class for 25k. Insurance and repair costs are what keeps me from buying one.
Why would you be annoyed about a big car....being big?
As they say: “A cheap Porsche is the most expensive car you can buy”.
Reliability winner is the Camry. But its just boring
Im surprised Doug didn't mention the quirk of the key/ignition on the left side of the steering wheel.
The right wheels will transform this car! Nothing too extreme, just a size or two up larger.
THHHHHISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ....! when i hear that i just stop watching its so annoying! :)
These go for almost $200k in Iran lol
X6 zdx panoramas a7 is where u saw it first for the slope backs BUT the cls is the true trend setter
This or the stelvio
good luck with repair bill ^^
I had to reseal one of those engines it really wasn’t that bad to work on
Doug wasn't social distancing back then
Same thing with most European automobiles. Fiat, BMW & Mercedes Benz.
The Greatest Car in the world forever
So question about the "cost of ownership" comment you made toward the end. I've always been drawn to the styling of the panamera and with the dwindling value of them, started checking the used selection locally. But then a local mechanic told me an oil change on one of these is $400+. Is that true? Just curious because that is pretty significant if we're talking cost of ownership
Man these have grown on me so much. I actually think they look great. Unique, yes, but unmistakably Porsche, and the form follows function. I think now that sloped backs are more common and in today’s suv world, these stand out in all the right ways.
30k in the USA yet here in Australia it’s still a 200k car 🤦♂️
Now that is a nice family car
This is my dream car
The interior is adequate, however the rear if the panamera is rather disappointing. Actually, it's simply horrid.
A bargain untill those endless repairs start showing up 🤣
That's because it's about to cost another 30,000 in maintaining.
Hi the Cayenne base is a better car!! Just to let you know.
BC it's ugly AF and you would have to be a complete dumbfcuk to buy it in the first place.
Sorry, but suggesting the change from an interior full of neat physical switches to one with a glossy black touch panel that looks a scruffy fingerprinted mess as soon as you use it is in some sense "evolution" is beyond strange.
All interiors should be black or grey.
Thing is the Camry will last me 500,000 miles and won’t cost me $500,000 every time I take it into service
@Brg 97 Chile it was a joke and while that’s true I would love to compare the prices of changing an alternator at a Toyota dealer vs a Porsche dealer
Thing is no one cares about your camery and Porsche’s are extremely reliable even top of the line models
