DOUGSCORE CHART:
www.dougdemuro.com/dougscore
Quick correction at 8:20 with the seats - the lever on the backrest will move the seat forward so you can access the third row. The procedure shown at 5:40 lets you move the front seat forward so you can stow the second row. My mistake!
@Erich Rastetter I don't know if there's a Pinnacle hybrid or not. This one is not a hybrid (he shows the engine bay). But the Pinnacle's seats are just too big to fit. I think you're right about the older hybrids though. I don't think those seats could stow either.
@Erebus489 is that a variant of the Pinnacle trim level or if its hybrid or not? I believe Hybrids from earlier years could not stow the 2nd row because that's where the batteries are.
Don't be a chicken Doug!
@C L exaaaactly dude that is exactly what i thought too
@anthyman1 He did review a tricycle technically - grworld.info/fund/iceXhp3SkZeI2Wk/b-nteo
Ultra luxury minivan? Hands down Toyota Alphard/ Vellfire. Well, There are none in the U.S.
very nice but I'll pay $30k for a brand new last year's basic model
You can monitor your kids to make sure their behaviour stays rational and reasonable.......*screeches in Rousseau*
Money pit
That button that moves the seats forwards should let the middle seats fold under the floor if it is like the town and country 2016 my mom hhas
Respectfully Mr DeMuro, this can can’t be the king of the hill if it runs on hybrid electric, not propane. It doesn’t even feature any quirky propane accessories...
Im gonna buy this so i can take all the boys with me in luxury. No kids allowed
Hoped he’d compare it to the vehicle families drive more now - a crossover SUV like the Atlas
strange that the transmission D L, as are all Mopars that I have rented over there, yet on my side of the world all Mopars are D S for Sport Mode - like how often does one want L in an 8-speed, but S is useful in changing the performance at all speeds.
Doug is the same at normal speed, 1.25, or 1.5.
The Porsche Cayman is the best Porsche, because it ia the only one that can be justified to the wife. Agree or disagree ?
And the Toyota Sienna is still the nicest minivan with a better residual. Wouldn't touch anything dodge with a ten foot poll.
"Minivans don't look cool." New Kia Carnival: Hold my beer.
I am a daily driver of classic cars only, I never thought I could ever be impressed by a mini-van until now. (Not going to happen, but you sell it very well Sir) 2 of the daily cars I do own are mopar, so that helps a lot. I am glad Fiat continues to enable Chrysler to continue doing what it does very well!
Sienna has been ranked as one of the most reliable vehicles on the road - Chrysler minivans have been historically dreadful. But you get a lot more here so you have to make trade-offs - if you lease or you always sell your car before the warranty the Chrysler makes sense - if you keep a car for 250,000miles - probably better off with the Sienna. And if you want something in the middle and you want the best warranty and save a HUGE amount of money - get the Kia Sedona. The new Sedona in Korea looks really cool but it's not available in the west. They keep the good versions for their market and sell the west the junk because as my Korean friend noted - Americans will buy any slop. Can't really argue - look at the diet - it's not even food. Food-like substance.
Wait wait wait... You can play an XBOX, IN A MINI VAN!??
19:41 click for autotune
They missed an opportunity to stick in a micro sd card. DVDs in 2021, really?
Those front seats move all the way forward so you can access the stow n go panels. the 2nd row will not clear the front seat backs unless the front seats are all the way forward. That goes back all the way to the Town and Country.
One 4runner would outlast 4 of these minivans
1:12 wow even all modern minivans are ANGERY 😡
And its worth 13,000 as soon as you sign for it
Doug is the kind of guy that wears socks with sandals while driving a Porche.
anyone else bored by these quirks and features on ridiculously overpriced, poor reliability, cars, trucks, etc. Just because a few trouser stain people with money can afford these items is a slap in the face to all the unemployed and underemployed masses who are quite seriously worried where the rent is coming, and how to avoid dying from Covid. 50k for a minivan is an absurdity and just shows how bad the American people have become as they idolize Kim Kardashian and read US magazine to see the uber rich frolic with the money that thees people have given them as they eat cat food on crackers. No one needs quilted seats, and buttons to replace simple operations, etc. This piece of shit has more FIAT failure points then most of the other crappy Chrysler/RAM/Jeep products. Even in hard times there will always be rich people with money to throw away, just think how better spent this money would be if it were used to help people instead of add to conspicuous consumption. Another example of the greed in our capitalistic system run amok....
Ultimate Uber
Look at all the electric features on the Chrysler that are going to malfunction soon. Do yourselves a favour and dont buy a Dodge
I agree the hearted seats should have a physical knob.
Don't buy Chrysler they're transmissions breakdown starting at 42k mi.
Chrysler marketing has to step up their game.. Pacifica pinnacle? "Hey look! It's a chrysler PP!" Start the sophomoric jokes now.
He hates on the mercedes van and loves this? uhh ok. I understand he doesn't get the "van" guys, but I don't understand lol.
Its a chrysler, it will go 50k max without totally self destructing.
Hey Doug, the button on the piller by the ground that moves the front seats. It only works when you are parked, and it moves the seats forward so you can access the stow-and-go.
The Hellcat Pacifica is starting to seem almost possible. Obviously, it would come out as a concept first and probably just have the 6.4L Scat Pack engine first. The trouble is that the minivan probably doesn’t even have a longitudinally mounted engine. The Hellcat could potentially come before the Scat Pack, as the Ram TRX did, but the Jeep Wrangler did it differently. We’ll be lucky just to get a 5.7L Hemi in the Pacifica. If we talk about he Hellcat Chrysler 300 more, that could very easily become reality.
I've never wanted a mini van until now
I have never thought a “ luxury “ vehicle would include a Vacuum... 🤦♂️🤷♂️
before I watch this video, I bet it's worth it, minivans are dope
Does anyone else from the Midwest or anywhere that gets cold and gloomy a lot love to just stare out the window during the driving portion? Winter sucks!
Yeah with the build quality and reliability of a $25k Dodge Caravan. If it has to be FCA then just get the cheapo Caravan and if you have the money for this it will be better spent on an Odyssey or Sienna. Better yet buy an SUV that has the same carrying capacity along with towing and AWD.
Hi Doug - the button behind the front seats to move the chairs forward is so you can access the stow and go seating and make it easier to lift the floor and stow the seat
Chrysler build quality is garbage. Rather have a Sienna.
They need to put Chrysler to bed honestly.. They got one tired ass minivan
I wouldn’t buy a Chrysler if my child’s life depended on it, and I was paid $1,000,000. That thing loses 50% of its value as soon as you drive off the lot, and loses 1% value by the day... No one should pay for a Chrysler, a Chrysler is what you drive when you’re broke so you never have to drive a Chrysler for the rest of your life.
I now realize the Doug score is bullshit and Doug is now a pitchman
I aint no drug addict im a DOUG addict 🤪🤪
EVERYONE LIKE
HEHEHEHEHEHHE
Also you can get it with sto-n-go seats that fold into the floor.
Dude it is about time!!! The Pacifica is awesome 😎
one other comment - you missed calling out all the integrated grocery bag hooks in the back - when the seats are up it looks like there are 5-6 of them, which is a godsend for anyone who does grocery shopping and doesn't want their produce all over the bottom of the well!
Pinnacle of reliability issues
6:30... I'm continuously amazed by the knee-jerk reactions people have to these features. HERP DERP THAT'S NOT SAFE. Like... did you really think a car maker would make it so you could move the driver's seat while moving? Have you never heard of... door closed sensors... seat occupancy sensors... lockouts that go into place once doors are locked or in motion, etc. I always see people screech about this crap without thinking and it's very tiring.
we did a cross country road trip in a 1991 toyota previa minivan. and my "we" i mean 6 guys of college or slightly older age. and 4 of us were over 6 feet tall. that 3rd row was big enough for 9 days on the road. this looks like a bloody cavern in comparison.
17:41 Chrysler makes rainy days happy (look at smiley sun)
10/10, would not buy, too many footprints in the interior >_>
Before considering purchase, see what Scotty Kilmer thinks of Chrysler products, on GRworld.
Where I'm from, we can only dream of driving vehicles over 2.0L due to the registration that exponentially increases above 2.0L.
And they come standard with electrical issues and transmission issues!
I don't have kids or any need for a minivan. Yet here I am watching Dougs's latest review on one lol
The button on the A Pillar is not to give more room for the rear seat passenger having more leg room. It is to move the front seats forward and away from the bins in the floor for the stow-n-go.
now when you break down you can relax in comfort !
Dodge Grand Caravan is the best mini van
You better be able to get a v12 in this thing for that much.
Also that button i for you to move that seat forward while then you can easily move the chair all the way out of the way
Seats will not move while.in drive
The hybrid actually drive really great with the awd
I’ve actually heard several times this is the choice for mom celebrities with kids.
Viss!!!
Absolutely no need for or interest in minivans so why did I just spend 25 minutes watching this?
stow-n-vac.... this option sucks
Thank you Doug for reviewing it❤️❤️🥰
Only Doug could get me to watch a 25 minutes video about a mini van
It's a shame Chrysler no longer sell cars in the UK. The Grand Voyager which I guess this is the replacement of sold very well, their biggest seller followed by the 300C.
I assume the front passenger seat button to move it won't work unless the vehicle is in park. In my 2011 f150 Platinum I can't change between preset seat locations unless I'm in park
Asians: we make ugly cars. Americans: hold my wheel.
Actually @DougDemuro the little button that moves the driver seat and passenger seat isn’t for more leg room, it’s to make the stow and go for the second row easy. Although you lose second row stow and go if you get the hybrid
Karenmobile
Better than honda civic!!!
STAY AWAY FROM CHRYSLER PRODUCTS, A TOYOTA WILL OUT LAST THIS BUY 2 to 3 TIMES, I SOLD CHRYSLERS FOR YEARS, GARBAGE COMPANY ,GARBAGE VEHICLES
1:20 “Chrysler invented the mini van” No Doug the VW bus came first!
19:46 annnd Hitler mustache
Doug and Scott Kilmer both have exactly 3.88 million subscribers.
Shitty customers trying to buy one: "Ill give ya 30k out the door. My cousin got one just like this for that price"
Wow, Doug sold this short... Kinda. I had a lesser model of this as a work van for a year. 4 things: 1. Handling: I've driven a lot of cars, I've had an RX8 and a NA Miata track car. The Pacifica is obviously not and never will be fast, but for what it is, it handles really quite well. The front tires really stick under braking and there's tons of power coming out of corners (again, for what it is). It can be rather entertaining if you're alone in the car. That said, the transmission is just as un-fun as you'd think, so powering out of a corner properly is nearly impossible. 2. Stow-and-Go: I can't sing praises enough. As usual, Doug did not do his research. The front seat button at 5:20 is not for relaxing, it's for moving the front seats out of the way to stow the middle row into the floor more easily. When all seats are in the floor, the car can hold a stack of 4x8 sheets of plywood or sheetrock flat on the floor with the rear hatch closed. It makes these vans incredibly useful for work and hobbies. You might not want to do this in a super luxury version but it's great for a garage woodshop owner. 3. Fuel economy: it can be bad if you're not trying really hard, but if you are highway mileage can easily climb into the mid 30's. For a 7 passenger/cargo van, that's absolutely fantastic. No idea on how good the hybrid version's mileage is. 4. Reliability: it isn't. I drove harder than most owners ever will, but the CV joints died in about 15k miles on mine. Repaired under warranty. Transmissions are known for going out on these too. My company had a fleet of these for sales and service people and all of the Dodge vehicles we had had transmission issues. Lease, don't buy. Or buy and sell before your warranty expires. Bonus: You want quirks and features? Put the van into reverse while on the highway. You won't be able to accelerate, but the backup camera will come on, which is a fun party trick. Oh, uh, don't try this at home, of course.
Good review Doug. It's good to see the Pacifica name applied to the minivans. When it first came out, it was more of a crossover. Alotta "smartness" in the design, however, Fiat Chrysler still has a ways to go to shake off the unreliability stigma associated with American brands.
Ah Doug, the button for the front seats can't even be used if the sliding door is shut. That button primarily exists to provide enough of an opening to collapse the Stow-N-Go seats. Alternatively, since Chrysler seems to be the only manufacturer smart enough to realize being able to swing a passenger seat forward while it has the child seat latched into place, hitting the button also provides enough clearance to swing that seat forward. It's super useful. I use it all the time. And it cannot be activated while driving.
Good Doug M.A.A.D. City
As a carguy I don't wanna say this but maaaaaaaan screw luxury cars I want this minivan now
That's pretty damn nice for a Fiat...
perfect, exactly what i wanted and more.
R63 AMG's were really cool
My question is why would you buy a luxurious minivan like this, only to have food in between the seats, juice & milk stained carpet, crayon on the walls and junk all over the floor. I'm from a big family and know that it won't stay that nice once you let kids on it.
As far as vans go, this thing is beautiful.
I kind of want one 🧐
Grauenvoll. Baut einfach wieder den ersten.
Am I the only one who tries to guess the individual scores before Doug announces them? 😊
Great attention to detail and innovative ideas. However, the fit and finish on this van leaves much to be desired. Let's hope reliability, especially for such a feature rich var will hold up.
''...that no one is going to buy'' sorry, it's a joke, Chrysler is a very good company that makes very reliable vehicles 🤪
Pure kitsch interior.
Dear new French Chrysler, plz put a hellcat in the awd pacific. Sincerely everyone
Wouldn’t buy if I my kids were young, it’s too nice and they’d get Cheerios everywhere.
Had one of these as a rental lol they're really nice actually- vents at each seat, quad zone climate control, etc
Thinking of it, $50,000 isn't all that much these days. Barely enough for a big Volvo or BMW estate.
