The Fisker Karma is weird -- really weird. Today I'm reviewing a Fisker Karma, and I'm going to show you around one of the weirdest, most unusual vehicles you can buy for $40,000 or less. I'm also going to take you on a full tour of the Karma, and then I'm going to drive the Fisker Karma.

DOUGSCORE CHART: www.dougdemuro.com/dougscore
Isn't this car a pure serial hybrid, completely electric in terms of propulsion? Why isn't it as fast as other electric cars then?
Hey Doug - will you please do a video on the Karma Revero? Curious as to how it compares to the older Fisker Karmas. Thanks!
So cool but too expensive. It looks like a fish infront.
Only came here because Doug called this the worst car he has reviewed last year. To be honest i expected much worse, it's bad but not ridiculously bad
That green is the most extraterrestrial color that I have ever seen. 5:48
I’m convinced this car is a meme
I’d get this as a toy if i was rich
9:28 IN THE CENTER CONTROL STANK...
Lol closed captioning on the Finland city said seek out punky 🤣🤣🤷♂️
When i heard general motors i immediately thought junk!
This car looks like it's recent in 2020
I thought that was a Jaguar from the side
Had to turn it off, this guy talks way too much and doesn't show different views of the car. Over-explainer of the simplest of functions..such as the way the buttons/lights on the gear shift work...wow. Spectacular exterior design of the car though!
That gear selector is this car's clitoris
They should be ashamed of those body gaps. Only the dick-hole body gap on a fit woman is something to be proud of when it comes to gaps
It's one of the most beautiful cars I've never wanted.
7:31 as a Finn, living fairly close to Uusikaupunki, the way the pronounces it is absolutely hilarious.
How much money did the US govt lose in those loans?
Whiskers Fiskers is the name of my cat. Seriously!
moustache car
I still do not understand why the plug in hybrid is dead. It just makes so much more sense. Cheaper to build, better for the environment as we all know making those batteries isn't the best thing, and it just makes so much more sense.
why is he speaking like a newscaster
This car looks like the result if a catfish had sex with Baymax
The city which it was built in, Uusikaupunki can be directly translated to Newcity.
That infotainment LOOKS amazing, honestly one of the prettiest and trendiest I've ever seen. Cooler-looking than most systems in economy and premium (but not luxury) cars 8 years later IMO. If this UI were in a flagship Audi today, of course complemented by a modern gauge cluster screen, it would still look great. Too bad the hardware lets it down so hard. It would be so awesome if only there weren't so much lag. The first Tesla Model Ss were as smooth as iPhones, though they've slowed down a lot with software updates since as Tesla's been through 3 hardware iterations the old cars don't get. This LOOKS way better than the 1st gen Tesla systems. If only it had the speed and intuitive UX to back it up...
“Looks like nothing else on the road”. Ummm it looks like everything on the road, Jaguar rear, Aston Martin front with 350z l-ish headlights. lol
IMO the first gen Nissan Leaf is the one and only car that looks worse than the Karma. It looks absolutely horrible.
What is the type of guy to keep his passengers in the trunk
i can just see future humans laughing at us for thinking this is futuristic in anyway lol
This should be the most beautiful car hood is nice and I want one when I’m an adult and the grille is phenomenal
Same name on pruning shears
I used to live about an hour from Uusikaupunki right before the Karma came out. I saw a few of these around town with “Factory Test Car” stickers on the sides. Haven’t seen one on the road since. My guess is none of them actually stayed in Finland. The factory that built these now builds Mercedes A-Classes and CLAs, and built Porsche Boxsters before they started building Karmas.
What a ass car! Never buy that one!
The steering wheel has the Antman helmet if you look closely.
and the back seat is what you would get in a 2 door coupe
i would get a taycan a model S or a model 3
So this was made for woke self absorbed Hollywood types who sniff their own farts.....no wonder it failed. Someone really over estimated that demographic
Al Gore had his hand in this too
This is now Doug's worst car of the year lol
It shouldn’t be. Yeah it’s not a good car but it’s better than f&f s2000.
Yeah that's why I came again to watch this vid lol
Bro just explain the vehicle, i don’t need your condescending tone, nor you saying everything is “weird” or “unusual” every 5 seconds. The design is actually pretty sick.
@Brandon Kelleher hahaha Indeed
You've come to the wrong channel haha
These keep popping up on my facebook lately. They kinda look like a 4 door C6 Corvette, which I wouldn't think I'd like, but I do. LS swap it!
Such a disappointing interior for such an existing exterior look
Imagine you press the gear to park and it flashes red
This looks like a Pontiac's cousin
That screen was not the pinnacle of tech if you think about it. Automakers have always been completely oblivious to the tech world around them. Think about it - the first gen iPad was released two years prior to the release of this car. By the time this car was released, the "retina" iPad had been released. Isn't it basically since Tesla got on the market when traditional automakers realised they had to do something about their appalling infotainment experience.
Sleek!!!
Always liked the solar Roof and how it was incorporated into the car.
The Fisker was made at the Valmet plant in Finland. The same place the TH!NK City was made...another failed car. Make of that what you will.
crap car
This car seems to make no sense. Nothing amazing technology wise itsept the solar room. Stopped watching midway. No wonder this company went broke.
Next
the car look so cool for me
Beautiful car that makes Tesla look like a Toyota Corolla.
The breakable butane gully dress because music preferentially mourn atop a public vermicelli. sloppy, hungry pheasant
fiskers dont make noise when they start
I don't care what anyone says this car is gold.
Thanks, right back at you.
ur stupid
I remember Fisker / Obama / Biden. Biden told us they were going to make cars in the USA a create manufacturing jobs. That helped Obama get elected, got a lot of our taxpayer dollars to do so then didn't follow through. I think they opened up a little office building here instead. Corrupt. FFFFFisker
I mean for 2012 it's pretty advanced
Look like a BMW wanabe
it is a beautiful car... tbh
You know it’s bad when even the Chevy Volt beats it out in a Doug Score! Lol lol lol
Great Review #CarsGolfCigars
Also doug should not even give any points for styling of anything at anytime. Dude is solely on the t shirt cargo shorts and Ugly shoes his entire life. What does he know about good style.
Doug Clearly came with some hater vibes here. Maybe jealous of henrik?
i think is the other way round, YOU are the one being biased. the guy is clearly just doing his job reviewing cars while giving constructive criticism.
You don’t need a fucking uselles manual! Call your insurance and send you a tow truck
Ford gmc etc kick out of bussines usa is corrupt contry !!!
Beautiful
The door handles are the fucking worst thing I've ever layed my eyes on what the fuck who thought that looks good
i normally be neutral on the design of the karma but actually I think I agree with you
The design is completely stolen from Maserati. They just made everything uglier.
Imagine buying an EV from 2012 that has the charging technology of 1980.
Hahaha! I love the look but can't imagine paying 40k for dated technology as we are more advanced now. Also where do I go for maintenance, repairs and parts?
Hey Doug, I believe that the fabric portion of the seats isn't so much a style feature as it is a "keeping your ass in the seat" feature when you're sliding that beautiful machine through the turns in the mountains! Leather without bolsters is slick. What a great looking car. I saw one up close here in the Fresno area years ago and wondered what happened to them. Thanks for the info.
Doug that back seats made especially for you :-) :-D
This DORK has a jackA$$ Type of attitude huh
The goal was to make an environmentally safe vehicle HAHA yup no wonder it failed you arent supposed to go against the grain / The CLAW
The Fisker Karma is a piece of shit and you're a fucking idiot with awful taste in cars, go fuck yourself Doug.
I love the look of this auto!
Doug trashes this car for really no reason except he doesn’t like odd vehicle trim.
If you understand EVER's, then you'll understand the problem of engineering the exhaust. This is actually a nice solution in this car. You'll never smell it because the generator isn't going to be running when stopped at a light. The fact that it's a "four cylinder" is irrelevant to the performance of the car. It's not a hybrid. The generator's size doesn't matter because it's not mechanically driving the wheels. This is also why these vehicles will continue to be on the road for years to come, the power train won't age like a regular car or even a hybrid.
EVER is an industry term for describing these cars. The Chevy Volt and BMW i3 are also EVER's although GM and BMW used REEV for range extended EV instead.
Sadly the old Fiskers basically have to be hacked constantly to keep them running- their doors have no mechanical controls, so there have been dead Karmas that had to be broken into just to be unlocked. Their use of a 2-liter turbo engine was always weird to me, since the engine is working as a generator and isn't connected to the rear motors at all. They look good from the side, but their interior visibility is pretty bad.
I know where this is. This is 10 min from Fontana on the 210 freeway. This place is 45 from LA close to suburbs.
Another failed Caulifornia company. All those exotics are going to belong to Caulifornia pretty soon when they complete their socialist ideology.
Quirkiness is the guy talking! "hey, can I borrow your car?" This dealership must be desperate to sell this car to let this guy borrow it and do a review in WalMart shorts and t-shirt.
Hahahaha I love his comments
Cool car. To bad you won't be able to get any parts. It would make for good garage art.
I really like it. I’d buy one in 2020
This car was wayyyyyy ahead of its time
Unfortunately, some of factors involved in Fisker's demise were beyond their control. They lost a significant portion of their inventory, when Superstorm Sandy struck the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. in 2012. Fisker had just offloaded a large shipment of Karma's at the Port of New York that were awaiting transportation to their distribution center. Sandy struck the area with hurricane force wind, and rain destroying the entire inventory of vehicles that Fisker had sitting in port. With no cars available for sale, and very little in cash reserves, Fisker's days as a car company were unfortunately numbered after this unforseen disaster!
It was just ahead of its time, that why it failed
Seems like a perfect example of California design. It’s all a pain in the ass to use
My father's 2012 minivan has so much better infotainment system. It's not like it's modern but the map actually works and everything is straight forward.
Looks like a jaguar🤔
The car looks good but that bronco in behind Doug looks amazing, can't wait to see the new one on the road
Today’s EV cars remind me of cars from the 70s when buttons and knobs were unreliable. Today’s EV cars are still experimenting with quality control secondary.
Grill looks like a French moustache
A prius passed you
If you have the money to buy it and warehouse it for years it MAY appreciate. Can’t drive it - break a headlight or some other part and you’re done.
Doug, you didn’t leave CNC link?
I remember when these were new. Our local Cadillac dealer decided to add Fisker to its portfolio and had the whole town plastered in billboards advertising this. With a picture of a toddler on said billboards, and some trite message about “save the environment for future generations!” I always felt bad for the poor kid (probably the owner’s grandson or something?) that was forced against his will to sell this failed car with exploding batteries. 🤣
